About American Airlines
American Airlines, a founding member of oneworld®, is the largest carrier in the world. With its affiliates American Eagle and AmericanConnection, it serves more than 250 destinations - including more than 150 in the USA. Internationally, it flies to almost 50 countries.
Based at Dallas/Fort Worth, it also operates major hubs at Chicago O'Hare, Miami, San Juan and, since its acquisition of TWA in 2001, St Louis. American also has significant operations at Boston, New York JFK and LaGuardia, Los Angeles, and Raleigh/Durham. It is the leading carrier between North and South America.
American has anti-trust immunity with Finnair and LAN Airlines and its LAN Peru regional affiliate, and a wide-ranging commercial agreement with Qantas. It code-shares with every one of its oneworld partners, as well as future oneworld partner Japan Airlines, and has signed code-share agreements with Malév Hungarian Airlines and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
Beyond oneworld, it has commercial links with Air Pacific, Air Sahara, Air Tahiti Nui, Alaska Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Deutsche Bahn German Rail, El Al, EVA Air, Gulf Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Mexicana, Brussels Airlines, SNCF French Rail, TAM Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines.
