About Austrian

Austrian Airlines is justly famous for its route network extending into Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Since the company first launched flight operations on 31 March 1958, indeed, it has succeeded in recreating the role of a specialist carrier to outlying regions in its own image. As it has done so, the Austrian carrier has often showed a pioneering spirit over the years in incorporating previously unknown cities throughout Eastern Europe into its route network. And this policy has paid off: with a total of 45 locations, Austrian Airlines now provides more destinations in Central and Eastern Europe than any other airline in the European Union.

As well as Austrian Airlines itself, the Austrian Airlines Group includes another two carriers. Together with Austrian Airlines, Austrian arrows and Lauda air provide a diverse and attractive range of services in the scheduled, cargo and charter segments. Operating through the Vienna hub, Austrian Airlines can offer a global route network covering 130 destinations in 66 countries – with minimum transfer times of just 25 minutes. The Austrian Airlines Group fleet includes around 100 aircraft with an average age of just seven years, making them amongst the youngest and most modern operating in the world today.

Agile, natural, melodic – according to this motto, the Austrian Airlines Group provides typically Austrian hospitality, an excellent price-performance ratio and a special service in both Business and Economy Class. All in all, it makes travelling with Austrian Airlines an experience to look forward to.
