In Flight Meals

You can now look forward to enjoying the gastronomic delicacies of the world-famous Austrian cuisine as we pamper you on short-haul scheduled flights by conjuring up a range of real Austrian specialities for your inflight delectation. Depending on the day and time of your departure, you will have the chance to enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast or daytime dish. Austrian sets out to combine tradition with fresh new ideas, and you’ll be surprised by the delicious gourmet variations that resulted: internationally renowned Austrian top chef Helmut Österreicher, Austria’s first chef to be awarded four crowns, the national equivalent of Michelin stars, for his culinary expertise, has created all the dishes used in the short-haul Economy Class snack range exclusively for Austrian Airlines.

Service

For the smallest passengers Austrian Airlines puts together “baby kits” including babies’ bottles, baby food, a bib, nappies and other useful items for the flight. Austrian can also warm up any milk you’ve brought with you, of course. Just say the word to your flight attendant.

On Board Entertainment

To ensure you don’t get bored during your next long-haul flight, Austrian offers an extensive range of audio and video channels. Austrian Airbus A330 and one A340–300 (OE-LAL) aircraft are equipped with an interactive system to offer you interesting movies, music, games and several different means of communication. The other three A340 aircraft belong to the non-interactive fleet, and offer audio services or a smaller range of video channels. With 5 movies (always including one children’s film), 12 audio programmes and 10 computer games available, our interactive fleet transforms you into your very own director of programming. Our News&Views category provides you with a range of information or images from the air. Alternatively, you can choose to communicate from your seat by SMS, telephone or e-messaging. On the non-interactive fleet, you can enjoy 2 movies on the large screen or the monitor closest to your seat. On the routes to Japan, 3 films are shown, in addition to the standard selection of 12 audio programmes.
