On Ground Services

New Club World is rolling out across the fleet. British Airways aims to have new Club World available on all the Boeing 747 and 777 aircraft by mid 2008 (in accordance with the current roll out schedule). In the meantime the rest of the fleet will continue to offer the current, award-winning Club World service.

New Club World is the ultimate in convenience and comfort. You can use online check-in, a Self-Service Check-in kiosk or one of the dedicated Club World check-in desks. That means more time to spend relaxing, working in the departure lounges or even visiting the Molton Brown Travel Spa for a bit of pampering. You can also choose to check in at the dedicated Club World desks found at all airports served by British Airways.

Lounges

You can enjoy access to the comfort and facilities of over 70 dedicated British Airways lounges, and through our partners at over 170 additional lounges worldwide.

Terraces lounges: The Terraces lounges offer you a haven away from the busy airport environment where you can sit down and relax while enjoying a drink and snacks from our Cappuccino and Juice bar, or the World Wine Bar. Alternatively, you can get to work using our business facilities in the Combiz Centre, where you can access the Internet on dedicated PCs.

Molton Brown Travel Spa: When you fly longhaul on British Airways in FIRST, Club World, or if you are an Executive Club Gold member, you can use the exclusive facilities of the Molton Brown Travel Spas™. The Spa facilities are available at London Heathrow Terminals 1 and 4, Departure and Arrivals lounges and at New York JFK within the Terraces lounge.

Arrivals lounges: Make sure you’re refreshed and ready for the day ahead with an invigorating power shower, help yourself to food and drink or catch up on some work. At London Heathrow Arrivals lounge T1 and T4 you can even enjoy a complimentary well-being treatment at the Molton Brown Travel Spa while the valet service presses your suit, ensuring you leave looking as good as you feel. Arrivals lounges are available at London Heathrow Terminals 1 and 4, London Gatwick, Johannesburg International and New York (JFK).

Business Class Seat

The new Club World seat has been specially designed to adapt to your needs, whether you’re working, sleeping, eating, or just relaxing. It offers four preset seat positions, as well as the flexibility to create your own using the fine adjustment buttons. The new Z position extends to 6 feet 6 inches (201cm) and has been designed to achieve a feeling of absolute relaxation and comfort. Drifting off to sleep is even easier as the new bed is now 25% wider making it even easier for you to turn over as you sleep. A new softer mattress, memory-foam headrest and cosy quilt mean you’ll be able to stretch out fully flat in blissful comfort. You can sleep totally unobserved thanks to a new touch button privacy screen.

In Flight Meals

Enjoy the quality and service of fine dining, in the comfort and privacy of your own space. The larger table, elegant china, cotton napkins and personalised service from the Cabin crew make it feel like you are dining in a restaurant, not an aircraft. Where customs restrictions allow, you’ll also be treated to a pre-takeoff Champagne aperitif. The new Club World menu combines the finest local and international produce in a range of exquisite dishes, from contemporary to classic. Tempting options aim to satisfy every gastronome, from healthy eaters to hearty appetites. To accompany your meal, take advantage of the imaginatively selected and expertly sourced wine cellar, stocked with old and new world wines.

Fancy something to eat between meals? Just go ahead and help yourself in the newly designed Club Kitchen. You’ll find a wide range of hot and cold food, from healthy-eating options to indulgent treats. Take your pick of our fresh wraps, crisp salads and bite-sized sandwiches. Or, for a naughtier option choose from a selection of luxury cakes and organic chocolate. You can also help yourself to a selection of fine wines, fruit smoothies, soft drinks and juices. On selected longhaul aircraft fitted with the new Club World cabin (excluding Boeing 767 aircraft) there’s delicious hot dishes to choose from, such as wild mushroom beef stroganoff and tomato and chickpea tagine.

Service

On Club World Sleeper Service flights you can enjoy an evening meal in the comfort of the lounge, which replaces the on board meal, so that you can maximise your sleep on board. Pre-flight Supper is available when you fly Club World on selected overnight flights from New York JFK, Newark, Philadelphia, Washington, Toronto, Chicago and Boston departing on or after 6pm local time.

On Board Entertainment

A 10.4-inch (26cm) personal flat-screen, noise-canceling headphones and an ice cream - welcome to the movies. Sit back and enjoy the latest films, TV programmes, games, audio books, music and radio when you want to, in the comfort of your private space. HighLife Entertainment’s Audio Visual On Demand (AVOD) system puts you in control. Choose from over 200 entertainment options and play, pause, stop, fast forward and rewind to fit in with your own schedule. You’ll also enjoy high sound quality thanks to your noise canceling headphones.

British Airways Business Jet

British Airways is to launch double daily business class-only flights from London City airport to New York next year (2008). The new flights will operate on Airbus A318 aircraft with 32 seats onboard. The A318 is the perfect aircraft for these flights. It is capable of operating at London City and is large enough for us to provide the number of business class seats required to make this a viable operation. British Airways has ordered two A318 aircraft to operate these flights. They will be the first A318s in the British Airways fleet though the airline already operates 69 Airbus A320 family shorthaul aircraft.
