membership status miles are valid for 12 months and are simply used to determine your level of membership e.g. blue/blue plus/silver/gold.
destinations miles are the ones you can spend on rewards for yourself e.g. flights

When flying, please remember to show your card on both your outbound and return journey. We'll then credit the miles to your diamond club account. You can earn and spend your miles with our partner hotels. Use your miles to receive £10 vouchers towards your stay (for the equivalent value in euros or another currency, the daily rate of exchange will be used). As a diamond club member you can now rent a car with Hertz anytime and earn destinations miles. All you have to do is quote your diamond club membership number at reservation or produce your membership card when you collect your vehicle. As a diamond club member Hertz also offer you exclusive special rates and benefits whilst bringing you extensive car hire coverage and the opportunity to earn more miles.

Status and Privileges

blue membership

Once you've joined diamond club you'll be enrolled as a blue member. You'll receive an email detailing your membership number and a virtual blue membership card. Once you've earned 3,000 membership status miles within 12 months, you'll reach blue plus status and you will receive a membership card (which you can use at all bmi self check-in machines) and complimentary food and preferential seating on bmi Heathrow routes that currently offer a paid for service. Your blue membership benefits include:

blue plus membership

It gives extra benefits to blue status, as blue plus members are eligible for a complimentary meal and drink in-flight on Heathrow routes that operate a paid-for in-flight service. To qualify for blue plus status you simply need to earn 3,000 status miles within 12 months. As a blue plus member you can enjoy all of the benefits of blue card membership.

silver membership

Once you've earned 16,000 membership status miles your membership will be upgraded to silver. Once you earn 16,000 status miles you automatically receive silver membership. You’ll then notice your account is reset to zero miles, and your new membership year begins. You have 12 months to retain your silver status by earning 16,000 status miles or you can work your way to gold status by earning 38,000 status miles. As well as all the benefits of blue card membership, as a silver member you can also enjoy:

Once you've earned 38,000 membership status miles your membership will be upgraded to gold. You can automatically retain your gold membership when you collect 38,000 membership status miles during your 12 month membership period. As well as all the benefits of silver diamond club membership, as a gold member you’ll also enjoy:
