Earn Miles

For most miles flown with KLM, Air France, Kenya Airways, Air Europa or any other member of SkyTeam, you are rewarded with one Award Mile and one Level Mile. If you choose to fly with one of the other airline partners, most miles flown are rewarded with one Award Mile. The total number of Miles credited to your account depends on the distance of your flight and the class you travel in. There is a minimum of 500 Award and Level Miles on most tickets for domestic flights. On most tickets for international flights, there is a minimum of 750 Award and Level Miles offered. Award tickets, Air Miles tickets and other similar tickets are not eligible for Miles. Tickets in some classes may earn fewer or no Miles.

You can earn two kinds of Miles: Award Miles and Level Miles. Award Miles add up to great offers: from Award tickets to hotel and car rental packages. And they remain valid as long as you make a minimum of only one eligible flight every 3 years with KLM, Air France or any other member of the SkyTeam alliance. Level Miles take you to a higher level in Flying Blue’s membership: from Ivory to Silver, Gold or Platinum. Every year Level Miles are put back to zero in the level check at December 31st.

Status and Privileges

Flying Blue provides exclusive service in each of its four tiers of membership: Ivory, Silver, Gold or Platinum. The colour of your Flying Blue membership card represents the level you are in, which depends on the number of Level Miles you have earned. Each level offers its own benefits and privileges. And finally, to move up a level is easy: the more you travel, the higher your level.

Flying Blue Silver

As a Flying Blue Silver member, you are recognised as a SkyTeam Elite customer by all Skyteam airlines which entitles you to save time throughout your entire journey. In addition, Silver membership makes you earn 50% more Flying Blue Award Miles when flying on KLM, Air France, Kenya Airways, Air Europa or any SkyTeam airlines.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our dedicated team is on hand to care for your flight reservation. Your exclusive reservation service phone number is printed on the back of your Flying Blue Elite Silver Card.

If your desired class of service is not available when booking travel, you have priority status on the reservation waitlist (provided waitlists are accepted on the flight and/or in your desired class).

Flying Blue Gold

As a Flying Blue Gold member, you are recognized as a SkyTeam Elite Plus member by all Skyteam airlines which offers you and your guest access to all the airport lounges, so that you can rely on comfort wherever you are. In addition, with Gold membership you earn 75% more Flying Blue Award Miles when flying on KLM, Air France, Kenya Airways, Air Europa or any SkyTeam airlines. Flying Blue members residing in the USA and Mexico are recognized as SkyTeam Elite member.

Whatever your class of travel, you have access to KLM, Air France, Kenya Airways and Air Europa Business Class check-in counters and Elite transfer desks.

You receive priority status on your requested flight's standby list (Some SkyTeam Airlines apply specific conditions)

If your desired class of service is not available when booking travel, you have priority status on the reservation waitlist (provided waitlists are accepted on the flight and/or in your desired class).

Flying Blue Platinum

As a Flying Blue Platinum member, you are recognized as a SkyTeam Elite Plus member by all Skyteam Airlines. You are Flying Blue’s most valued customer. As a result, you are able to earn and spend Miles faster than ever with 100% more Flying Blue Award Miles when flying on SkyTeam Airlines. You can carry your Level Miles forward from one year to the next, after a certain threshold and even get a Platinum Card for life after 10 years of Platinum membership.

Simply present your Flying Blue Gold Elite Card to board at your convenience for more time to locate your seat and to store your carry-on luggage.

Get your year off to a flying start. Make your Level Miles go further by carrying them forward for renewed Platinum membership. Instead of resetting your Miles counter to zero, Platinum Extended lets you give it a boost by topping up the total with every Level Mile you have collected beyond the 115,000 Level Mile threshold. (Except for French residents, where the required total is 150 000 Level Miles or 105 Level flight segments)

Your Platinum membership is yours for life after 10 consecutive years of Platinum membership. With Platinum for life, you can rely on travel privileges for the rest of your days and enjoy full Platinum benefits without ever needing to requalify again.
