Earn Miles

United, United Express and Ted serve more than 210 destinations across North America and throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. United is a founding member of the globe-spanning Star Alliance network. Present your Mileage Plus number when you make your reservations.

Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM's) are miles that count toward elite qualification and are not redeemable for award travel. When you're ready to redeem your miles, there are several types of Award travel for you to choose from.

Status and Privileges

Premier

When you earn 25,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or 30 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) on United in a calendar year, you attain Premier® status in the United Mileage Plus® program. Paid, qualifying flight miles earned on most published fares on Star Alliance® member flights also count toward Premier status.

Premier Executive

When you earn 50,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or 60 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) on United in a calendar year, you attain Premier Executive® status in the United Mileage Plus® program. Your qualifying, paid flight miles earned on Star Alliance® member flights also count toward elite status.

Premier Executive 1K

When you earn 100,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or 100 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) on United in a calendar year, you attain 1K® status in the United Mileage Plus® program. Your qualifying, paid flight miles earned on Star Alliance® member flights also count toward elite status.
