Earning Awards is fast and easy when there are so many ways to earn miles with Royal Orchid Plus. In the air, on the ground and even with everyday spending, all the miles you earn can be redeemed for any Award.
Qualifying Miles that you earn with THAI and Star Alliance airlines determine your Royal Orchid Plus membership status. Each membership level, Member, Silver, Gold has unique benefits when travelling with THAI and Star Alliance airlines.
Qualifying Miles (Q Miles) are the actual miles flown and additional class of service miles on THAI and Star Alliance airlines. Miles earned with other partners, or with promotional offers are not Qualifying Miles.
After enrolment, Silver and Gold status can be attained with accumulation of Qualifying Miles within 3 evaluation periods. This method of evaluation allows members to enjoy the benefits of Silver or Gold status immediately after accumulating sufficient Qualifying Miles. Both Silver and Gold status are then valid for a full 2 years.
On all THAI operated flights, for paid travel in all booking classes, you earn miles, plus additional class of service miles. For THAI flights less than 500 miles in distance, you earn a minimum of 500 miles.
However, some discounted Economy and Business Class fares with designated booking class codes, designated routes, or short haul flights may not qualify for full mileage accrual.
Status and Privileges
Royal Orchid Plus Silver Status
This second tier status is attained with Qualifying Miles earned during 3 evaluation periods.
10,000 Qualifying Miles from the date of enrolment up to December 31 of the same year, or 10,000 Qualifying Miles during the first complete calendar year after enrolment, a calendar year defined as January 1 to December 31 of any given year.
15,000 Qualifying Miles from the date of enrolment up to December 31 of the next complete calendar year.
On attaining Silver status you will receive your personalised membership card, a Member’s Handbook, and 3,000 threshold bonus miles.
Priority baggage handling and an extra 10 kilograms baggage allowance (except where luggage allowance is determined by piece) on all THAI flights.
Royal Orchid Plus Gold Status
This top tier status is attained with Qualifying Miles earned during 3 evaluation periods.
50,000 Qualifying Miles Miles from the date of enrolment up to December 31 of the same year, or 50,000 Qualifying Miles during the first complete calendar year after enrolment, a calendar year defined as January 1 to December 31 of any given year.
80,000 Qualifying Miles from the date of enrolment up to December 31 of the next complete calendar year.
40 international flown sectors on THAI within any 1 calendar year.
On attaining Gold status you will receive your personalised Gold membership card and 2 luggage tags, plus 5,000 threshold bonus miles.
One round-trip upgrade from the original paid class of service valid for the full 2 year term of Gold status. Very frequent flyers are entitled to one additional upgrade by accruing 50,000 qualifying miles or completing 40 international sectors on THAI during the next complete calendar year after Gold status is attained.
Guaranteed seating in Economy Class on international flights when contacting THAI more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. ( subject to booking class Y/ B/ M/ U/ C/ D/ J/ F/ A/ P)
