Earn Miles
Miles are a currency of the Voyager Programme - what we use to quantify the benefits you have earned. They are credited to your account every time you fly South African Airways. In addition, you earn Miles when using the services of our Voyager Partners, which include other airlines both nationally and abroad, a variety of hotels, car rentals, retail, financial services, telecommunications and so forth.
Tier Miles are earned when flying SAA and the feeder airlines, and calculated according to the Mileage Accrual Chart. Basically, the longer the flight, the more Tier Miles you earn.
Tier Miles are also earned on code-share flights. These code-share agreements compliment our existing route networks by offering extra destinations across the globe. You will earn Miles on these flights, as long as the ticket is booked on an SAA flight number range.
Base Miles are earned by using any of our world-wide - and world-class - Voyager Partners. They include other airlines, hotels, car rental companies, retail, financial services, restaurants and a telecommunications provider.
Bonus Miles are a bonus - you get them via promotional offers or as a show of appreciation when, for example, you've flown a certain amount of Tier Miles, or you've persuaded a friend to become a Voyager member too. Bonus Miles may be used to redeem Awards and do not contribute to your Tier Status.

Voyager Platinum Lifetime
Lifetime Platinum Members have a dedicated call centre. 2 000 Miles for every 10 000 Tier Miles flown on SAA. 10 000 Bonus Miles allocated on achieving Lifetime Platinum Status
Entitled to a Gold Card for a companion of your choice for one Calendar year, on condition that you fly at least the equivalent of Gold Card Status in Miles or Sectors
