A strong increase in security measures is to be expected at many international airports especially airports in the USA. Check-in times at US airports are greatly subject to change. Therefore be sure to establish the check-in times at your US airport well in advance of your return flight to Germany. You should make sure you arrive at the airport 3 to 3 1/2 hours prior to your departure time.

Two items of hand luggage permitted (up to 8 kg max.), providing sufficient storage space is available on board (with the exception of the USA/Canada due to the increased security measures)

Lounges

LTU invites Business Class passengers to spend the time between check-in and boarding in the exclusive airport lounges. Please note that passengers have no access to the Business Class lounge when travelling on connecting flights within Germany.

Premium Economy Class Seat

The relaxing way to fly: comfortable leather seats, gourmet menus, outstanding service - the Business Class for long distance flights is designed to meet the highest expectations. Sit back and enjoy travelling the heavenly way.

Comfort in new dimensions: in the twinkling of an eye the ergonomically shaped leather seats transform into sleeperettes - combined with a seat width of approx. 63,5 cm incl. arm rest and a seat pitch of approx. 104 cm (as per aviation industry standards). This guarantees you a relaxing flight from take-off to landing.

Air Berlin wants to significantly upgrade the Business Class on its long-haul flights to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Fort Myers, Beijing and Shanghai. While a considerably improved "Relax Class" will replace the former Business Class on leisure travel flights, 30 ultra-comfortable "contoured" seats will be installed in the "Premium Business Class". This type of seat can be adjusted to a fully horizontal position. The upgrade is due to start in October and enhanced Business Class seats will be installed until the operation reaches completion.
