[edit] On Ground Services

Through the exclusive Priority Check-in counters and Security Fast Lanes, e.g. in Frankfurt and Munich, Business Class travellers can board quickly and conveniently. After a registration, Senators and Frequent Travellers have the option to Check-in via SMS/Text Message, which can be conveniently confirmed via a mobile phone.[1]

[edit] Lounges

Relax, rest and work at all important international airports - thanks to the lounges of Lufthansa and the Star Alliance Members. Surf wirelessly in Lufthansa lounges worldwide: Lufthansa already offers a comprehensive W-LAN service in all Lufthansa lounges in Germany as well as in almost all Lufthansa lounges worldwide. With the introduction of this optimised provision, in future passengers will also have wireless Internet access in Lufthansa lounges in Atlanta, Boston, Milan-Malpensa, Zurich and Dubai. And what’s more they are able to make use of T-Mobile’s W-LAN service in many of the lounges belonging to Lufthansa’s airline partners - especially in the USA.[2]

After your flight enjoy the free stay in the lounges. If you land in Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf or New York (JFK) with a Lufthansa Business Class ticket after a Lufthansa long-haul night flight you can freshen up or prepare for the business day ahead in one of the Lufthansa Business lounges. If you have the status HON Circle Member, Lufthansa Senator or Frequent Traveller or are travelling with a First or Business Class ticket Lufthansa will naturally welcome you, as usual, in the respective lounges.[3]

[edit] Business Class Seat

With the sleeper seat - the PrivateBed - undisturbed sleep is guaranteed - whether you lie on your side or on your back. Thanks to the retractable armrests you have ample room for your arms and shoulders. Due to the seat pitch of up to 150 cm to the seat in front of you there is lots of room for your legs. At the push of a button the PrivateBed reaches an impressive length of two metres and with only a slight incline to the ground so you can lie almost completely flat. Moreover the seat is ergonomically shaped and adapts to any body shape. Via a remote control you steer all the functions like for example the integrated massage function simply and conveniently at the push of a button. The foldable privacy screen gives you privacy whenever you want. With excellent technological equipment for every seat, we have created the best on-board working conditions above the clouds. It includes e.g. a large work table, a practical storage pocket for your laptop and files, and an individual reading light, integrated into the seat. In addition every seat has a PC power point with no adaptor necessary.[4]

Lufthansa is introducing a new amenity kit for children travelling Business Class on long-haul flights. With its cool, practical design and new, useful contents, it will gradually replace the previous travel kit and make flying even more fun for young passengers. The new kit contains warm children's socks, a toothbrush set, an eye mask to help youngsters fall asleep and ear plugs so they sleep tight. And, in keeping with the latest trends, the toiletry bag can also be used after the flight and hung up anywhere. This not only saves space but also makes an eye-catching feature.[9]

[edit] On Board Entertainment

You can now choose between ten films in up to eight languages. The selection includes European films as well as the very latest Hollywood blockbusters. With twelve radio channels ranging from classical through modern pop to World Music, as well as a variety of games and information videos on a number of destination airports, you will enjoy a varied choice. And so that you don’t miss anything, you will also receive the new ‘Mobile Media World’ programme listing with your mobile media player.[10] You can control your entertainment programme individually on a 7" monitor. The expanded entertainment offer is saved separately to each device - so by using the ‘entertainment on demand’ function you can decide for yourself what to play and when, and can start, interrupt or repeat the programme as desired at any time. Eight different navigation languages, including Russian and Arabic and a user-friendly interface make navigating a pleasure and with the new, noise cancelling headphones you will experience perfect sound quality every time.[11] The high quality headphone with active noise cancellation deliver excellent sound, and a 10.4" screen ensures better viewing. With audio/video-on-demand, you can start, pause, rewind or fast forward movies and music just as you wish. Besides music and films there are CDs, talking books, language courses and a large selection of games digitally awaiting your selection.[12]

On board the Airbus A380 the varied in-flight entertainment programme, which can be accessed via a personal monitor, caters to all interests. Passengers can choose from a wide selection of the latest feature films, a range of international music and radio channels, and a current TV programme. New kids’ channels have been introduced, with a varied programme for young passengers and a multi-player game mode. The 3D game graphics, which are controlled with an external game controller, provide a special highlight. In all travel classes on the A380, the popular service information about the flight, the route and the flight position can be viewed as a 3D animation. Moreover, external video cameras will be used for the first time. Among other things, they will transmit pictures taken from the tailfin perspective to passengers’ individual monitors.[13]
