You enjoy the highest comfort and ideal connections on your flight between Europe and the USA. On board there is only one class of service - Business Class with only 44 seats on the Boeing 737 on flights to/from Munich and 48 seats on the Airbus A319 to/from Dusseldorf.

Lufthansa will operate this additional, all-Business Class flight with a Boeing 737 that has been refitted as a Business Jet. The aircraft has 44 modern lie-flat seats. When fully reclined, these provide an almost horizontal sleeping surface measuring two metres (6’6”) in length. Flights depart Frankfurt daily except Saturdays at 8.15 hrs and arrive in Newark at 11.45 hrs. Each day the new connection will be the first Lufthansa flight to land in New York. The return flight is scheduled for 15.55 hrs, touching down in Frankfurt the following day at 5.40 hrs. These flights can, of course, be combined with any of the existing services between New York and Frankfurt or Munich.

And because of the small number of passengers, boarding and de-boarding times are also reduced, saving travelers valuable time. Passengers can make themselves comfortable on modern lie-flat seats, which, due to their improved tilt angle, create a nearly horizontal bed over two metres long. There are also plenty of options for those who want to make productive use of their time on board. With increased legroom and roomy work surfaces, there's plenty of space and privacy available for each passenger. Documents and travel accessories can be easily stored or kept within reach. Each seat features a power outlet so that passengers can work comfortably with their own laptops.

On Board Entertainment

With twelve radio channels ranging from classical through modern pop to World Music, as well as a variety of games and information videos on a number of destination airports, you will enjoy a varied choice. And so that you don’t miss anything, you will also receive the new ‘Mobile Media World’ programme listing with your mobile media player.

You can control your entertainment programme individually on a 7" monitor. The expanded entertainment offer is saved separately to each device - so by using the ‘entertainment on demand’ function you can decide for yourself what to play and when, and can start, interrupt or repeat the programme as desired at any time. Eight different navigation languages, including Russian and Arabic and a user-friendly interface make navigating a pleasure and with the new, noise canceling headphones you will experience perfect sound quality every time.

Service

With the start of the winter timetable, Lufthansa has launched a new flight that will land at Newark, only ten kilometres from the Big Apple, at 11.20 hrs local time. Until 31 March 2008, passengers traveling on this flight can also book a free helicopter or limousine service from the airport to Manhattan. The helicopter will take passengers either to East 34th Street or to the East River Piers. Alternatively, a specially equipped limousine with extra legroom is available to take passengers swiftly to their desired destination in Manhattan.
