About Mahan Air
The Mahan Air story began when Mahan Air was incorporated in 1992 as the first private airline in Iran. At its operational launch in May 1993, Mahan Air had modest fleet comprising two Tupolove 154 aircraft, a staff of 99 and a route network from Tehran to 2 domestic destinations. It also had great potential and boundless ambitions. After few years of relatively slow growth, Mahan Air real growth was initiated with the addition of Airbus A300 wide-body equipment to the fleet in 1999 and the A310 in 2001.This enabled the airline to reach beyond regional destinations it served at that time. Currently, the route network spans 21 destinations in 10 countries and Mahan Air has a modern fleet of 11 all Airbus aircraft and has 1400 employees. Mahan Air is a member of International Air Transport Association (IATA).
As the company recognizes the influence and contributions upon our success from its most critical resource, which are our employees of more than 1400, every effort is made to develop an exciting and equally rewarding working environment for our staff. To support our service excellence strategy, Mahan Air has adopted a rigorous quality control system and process for staff recruitment as well as training and service policy. All flight attendants must complete a four –month training course before they would be allowed to serve a passenger. This considered being one of the longest and most comprehensive flight attendant training programs of any major airline.[1]
The aim of Mahan Air training for cabin crews and other front-line staff is to provide gracious service reflecting warm and friendliness while focusing on relevant professional subjects such as airport services, sales and safety. In addition to utilizing flight simulator in Europe to train our pilots, the A-300 flight simulator in Mahan Air Kerman training center is being used to train Mahan Air as well as pilots from other airlines in the region.
