Martinair's baggage restrictions vary depending on your point of departure and your final destination. In principle, the piece concept only applies for travel between the USA/Canada. However, the piece concept is also granted for travel to Mexico, if you travel on Martinair and/or have a connecting flight with KLM or NorthWest Airlines. The piece concept will apply only when the complete journey between the applicable countries is covered by a single ticket. For tickets issued separately the piece or weight concept will apply for the individual ticket only.

Weight concept applies to/from countries where the piece concept is not applicable.

Martinair restricts the weight and size of a piece of checked baggage to a maximum of 32 kg (70lbs) and 406cm (160 inch) (L+W+H). Pieces exceeding these criteria may not be accepted as checked baggage and should be shipped as cargo.

In Flight Meals

It’s no wonder our superb catering facilities prepare as many as 20,000 meals a day for Martinair and for other airlines- our focus is always on fresh, delicious ingredients with traditional Dutch attention to detail and quality. On transatlantic routes Martinair provides two hot meals or a hot meal and breakfast depending on the time of day. On shorter flights, a meal or snack is served.

Are you a passenger with dietary restrictions? Martinair offers 16 different meal options for special meals and diets that can be pre-ordered up to 72 hours before your flight. New on the Martinair menu are Children’s Meals featuring kid favourites such as hamburgers, alphabet fries, macaroni and cheese, and of course Ice cream.

Coffee, tea, soda, mineral water, milk, juice, and premium wine and cocktails are available on all Martinair flights; on intra-European flights alcoholic drinks are sold at a small fee. Alcoholic drinks are free of charge during the beverage and meal service on transatlantic flights. Star Class passengers are served Martinair’s award-winning wine from our ‘Cellar in the Sky’ selections.

Service

Kids get special treatment at Martinair. During the flight they receive a fun Martinair backpack full of great surprises. We keep them nice and busy! Martinair understands that tasty and fun go together which is why our special children's meals are served in an exciting animal box. Depending on the flight the menu includes delicious macaroni with sausages, tasty chicken nuggets or yummy snacks and sandwiches in a playful wrapping. Every meal's a party! Children can amuse themselves with the funniest kid's cartoons and a special audio channel. One buggy or baby carrier travels free of charge per child. For babies up to 6 months, special travel beds are available on request.

On Board Entertainment

Your stewardesses will pass out earphones during the Intercontinental flight to allow you to freely joy a wide variety of audio and video programs. You may also wish to rent a Personal Inflight Entertainment Player with dozens of entertaining programs and the most recent feature films. You'll also receive a free newspaper and personal copy of Redtime, Martinair's glossy magazine. And for those who enjoy highlevel shopping: tax free shopping is possible on every flight.
