About NIKI
Since November 2003 – when NIKI was established – the fleet of Airbus aircraft and the number of destinations have been steadily increasing. airberlin has had a 24% share of NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH since the start of 2004 – the cooperation between airberlin and NIKI marked the first European low-cost airliner alliance. 2007 saw NIKI Luftfahrt making a profit for the fourth time in succession – in fact, it was more than twice as high as the profit recorded in 2006. NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH has 350 employees. It carried around 1.7 million passengers in 2007. One Airbus A321 (212-seater), six Airbus of the type A320 (180-seaters) and two Airbus of the type A319 (150-seaters) currently fly for NIKI.[1]
Frequent flyer program
Topbonus – the worldwide frequent flyer program that lets you take advantage of free flights and a whole range of extra services. You earn valuable status and award miles every time you fly with the airberlin group or one of our topbonus. Additionally, topbonus lets you collect miles even when you’re not flying. You can earn additional award miles towards your next free flight when you are out shopping, staying in a hotel or by hiring a car.[2] On flights with an Air Berlin (AB)-, LTU (LT)- and NIKI (HG)- flight number you are able to earn miles.. The number of miles you earn is based on the travel class, the tarif booked and, for long haul flights, the actual distance.[3]
