About Royal Jordanian

Royal Jordanian, the national carrier of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, was established in 1963 under the name "Alia," to become one of the first airlines in the region. Royal Jordanian started its operations with three aircraft operating to three regional destinations.

With a network of more than 50 destinations in four continents today, Royal Jordanian is currently one of the largest airlines in the MENA region.

Royal Jordanian has always carried out its role as goodwill ambassador and bridge across which Jordan exchanges culture, civilization, trade, technology, friendship, and better understanding with the rest of the world, and sustains its vision of being the airline of choice connecting Jordan and the Levant with the world. Accordingly, Royal Jordanian is continually modernizing and upgrading its services, renewing the fleet, and expanding its route network and operations.

Royal Jordanian Airlines serves more than 50 destinations in some 30 countries across four continents (Asia, Europe, Africa and North America), including London, New York, Chicago, Bangkok, Paris, Dubai and around 30 other points in the Middle East. The airline operates one of the world's most modern fleets, numbering more than 25 aircraft - with Airbus A340s on longhaul routes (to be replaced by Boeing 787s from 2010), A320/A321s on shorthaul, and Embraer 195s on regional services.

Royal Jordanian currently has marketing alliances, through codesharing agreements, with several international airlines including Austrian Airlines, Iberia, Air Canada, Aeroflot, Thai International, Malaysia Airlines, Syrian Airlines, Gulf Air, Cyprus Airways and America West Airlines.
