SAA now offers a curb-side check-in facility for First Class passengers, Life Time Platinum members and Platinum card holders. First Class passengers may check their baggage as soon as they arrive at the curb-side check-in counter at O.R. Tambo International Airport (Departures Terminal), where SAA staff are on hand to escort the passenger through a fast-track immigration channel, directly to the First Class Lounge

Lounges

All the lounges at Johannesburg International Airport have been completely renovated, with the addition of an International Arrivals lounge. Cape Town International Airport boasts three lounges: one in the Domestic Terminal for Business Class and the First and Business Class Lounges in the International Terminal boast wonderful views of the Cape mountains. The First and Business Class lounges at London Heathrow have been operational since November 2001 and a new Arrivals Lounge for First Class, Business Class and Platinum Cardholders (situated on the Departures Level of Terminal 1) has recently been opened. The Cycad Premium Lounge in JIA is situated on the upper-mezzanine level (airside) of the International Departures Terminal. The lounge has a chef and team of waiters on duty seven days a week and offers a range of sophisticated dining options and a full bar service. Other facilities include five luxurious shower rooms, a soundproof reading room, a smoking room, and five soundproof snooze rooms with CD players.

First Class Seat

The First Class Millenium Seat offers: 180-degree lie-flat beds with a generous seat pitch of 83”. 29-inch wide bed in full recline, possibly the widest in the industry. Each suite has its own ottoman, which is electrically controlled. Each seat has its own in-seat power supply for laptops. (Passengers supply their own connector cables - a Targus PA 350E or PA 360E Universal Auto/Air Power Adaptor is recommended .)

On Board Entertainment

Private television with large, 8.6” screens. Sony P@ssport audio-video-on-demand: This system allows each passenger to play, pause, and rewind or fast-forward any movie at any time without it affecting other passengers’ viewing. It features a variety of video games. Passengers can also compile their own audio listings by selecting from a variety of soundtracks.
