The general free baggage for the Swiss Economy Class is 20kg. Children under two years of age have a right to 1 piece of baggage (max. 10 kg) and a folding pushchair. On all SWISS flights, the weight of an item of item of hand baggage (regardless of destination and ticket class) must not exceed 8 kg in weight and 55 x 40 x 20 cm in size.[1]

Although our Swiss Economy cabin is not as spacious as the Swiss Business or Swiss First that doesn’t mean you have to worry about having to squeeze into your seat. Swiss have already accounted for that by reducing by 5cm the thickness of the seat back in our Airbus A340‘s. This translates into extra space for you.[2]

Swiss Economy Class offers you a choice between a meat dish and a vegetarian alternative. Thank you for your understanding in case your choice has run out. From Asian-vegetarian to spice-free - our passengers will find a variety of special meals that offer something for every taste. Special Meals have to be booked 72 hours before your departure at one of the SWISS agents around the world.[3]

All long-haul aircraft are equipped with telephones for your personal use. On the Swiss Airbus A340-300, you will find phones at every seat. SMS service on A340-300: Short messaging service allows you to send short messages to any mobile phone, email or fax address worldwide.[4]

The entertainment specialists have taken care to make sure that you get to enjoy: Contemporary feature-length movies – some of which are currently showing at your local theatre. Airbus A330: 7 movie and TV channels. And the latest financial news – powered by UBS. Airbus A340: more than 35 video channels. You can be your own programme director with our video on demand. Watch a movie from the start, pause, rewind or fast-forward, just as you can on your own player at home.[5]
